The hike takes place during the new moon, when the darkness allows thousands of stars to shine brightly. With every step, you’ll feel the crunch of leaves beneath your feet, the fresh scent of the forest, and the night breeze brushing your face. It is one of the most complete night hikes on FASYL’s calendar, perfect for lovers of unique plans and sensory activities.
Expert guides accompany the route, pointing out constellations, planets and astronomical phenomena that occur in a special way during these dates. Along the way, you’ll be able to use professional telescopes and other equipment to observe the sky in detail, discovering lunar craters, planetary rings and distant galaxies that seem within reach. Each observation comes with engaging explanations that turn the hike into a living lesson in astronomy and nature.
Upon reaching the observation points, the immensity of the starry sky invites contemplation, reflection and wonder. The plan is a round trip on the same day/night. We depart from Bogotá, do the hike and observation, and return to Bogotá in the early morning. Optionally, you can extend the experience with a night of rural lodging and breakfast (additional cost).
