Peña de las Cacas is a hiking tourism experience located in Pacho, Cundinamarca, designed for those seeking excursions and hikes near Bogotá with no prior experience required. The 9 km route combines high-Andean forest, páramo, spectacular viewpoints, and an impressive waterfall over 30 meters tall. It’s an ideal activity for families, groups of friends, and nature lovers. During the hike, an expert guide will explain the local flora and fauna, the importance of the páramo ecosystem, and the history of the region. At the end, you can take a refreshing dip in the waterfall (cold climate, but invigorating).
The tour takes place in a sustainable tourism setting, encouraging respect for nature and rural communities. Departure from Bogotá is very early (approx. 6:00 a.m.) and return is at dusk.
