Peña de las Cacas is one of the most requested hiking trails near Bogotá for families: a 9 km route with no prior hiking experience required, crossing high-Andean forest and páramo, opening onto spectacular viewpoints, and finishing at a waterfall over 30 meters tall. A certified local guide walks with you the whole way, sharing the region's flora, fauna and history — real Cundinamarca trekking, done at a family pace.

Once at the waterfall, you can take a refreshing (cold!) mountain dip. Departure from Bogotá is early (around 6:00 a.m.) with a return at dusk, run as a sustainable-tourism experience that supports Pacho's rural communities.
