The Sunrise Above the Clouds hike is a hiking experience near Bogotá designed for those seeking excursions and hikes with an unforgettable finale: a sunrise seen from the highest mountain of the Páramo de Guerrero. The route begins in Zipaquirá, the city of the salt mine, and heads into the protected ecosystems of the Santuario Chiquito ecotourism park in Pacho, a private nature reserve near Bogotá.
The Páramo de Guerrero holds the highest mountain in Cundinamarca and offers views of frailejones, silent witnesses to the passage of time. As hikers ascend, they reach an elevated viewpoint above the clouds, a magical place from which to watch the Tolima, Ruiz and Santa Isabel snow-capped peaks lit up by the first rays of sun.
